Thiago Alcantara is very happy at Bayern Munich and has no plans to play for anyone else, the midfielder’s father has claimed.
The 28-year-old, who is into his seventh season with Bayern, has had a glittering career with the club, winning trophies galore, but there have been suggestions he is looking to return to Spain.
There would be numerous La Liga clubs forming an orderly queue to snap him up if he did become available but Thiago’s father Mazinho insists he is very happy where he is. “It is his seventh season, he has one and a half more to finish his contract,” he said. “He is in a spectacular club, which has made him a great contract and has a great respect for players and former players. “When I go there, I realise that it is something out of the ordinary.”
Asked where Thiago will head to when the time does come to leave Bayern, Mazinho was unsure what the future holds. “I do not know what will happen,” he added. “I don’t know if he will want to return to Spain or be somewhere closer to us.”
Thiago himself has always spoken of his love for Bayern and revealed to reports last month that he is in no rush to leave the Allianz Arena.
The Spanish ace also has the prospect of working with a new coach to look forward to following the departure of Niko Kovac.
