Chelsea defender, Thiago Silva has reportedly handed the west London club a huge transfer boost in their pursuit of PSG forward, Neymar Jr.
The 31-year-old had already been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge. But with the winger’s future at Paris Saint-Germain in doubt, a move to west London may now be imminent.
According to Brazilian outlet UOL, the French strongholds are eager to part with Neymar this summer, in order to reduce their wage bill. In fact, PSG are rumored to be so eager to offload the Brazil international. That they are considering accepting a ‘significantly reduced’ bid for his services.
According to the source, Neymar is now lobbying for a transfer out of Les Parc des Princes after learning about the Parisians’ choice. Recently, PSG supporters have been very critical of the former Barcelona player. With some even yelling for him to leave from outside his home.
Newcastle and Manchester United are also in the running to sign Neymar, according to UOL. Additionally, Silva has already steered his fellow countryman toward west London. Despite the fact that the Blues typically feel threatened by the Red Devils’ heritage and the Magpies’ financial might.

The seasoned defender claimed in the Spanish newspaper MARCA last summer that PSG turned him down before he ultimately decided to sign with the Blues as a free agent. Silva urged Neymar to follow him to Chelsea towards the end of the interview.
“They didn’t offer me anything,” said the 38-year-old.
“Not even a euro. ‘Thiago, do you accept a euro to stay with us?’ Nothing at all. It was very annoying.
“[Neymar] has to go to Chelsea. If it happens, it will be the best,” Silva added.
