New Bayern Munich manager, Thomas Tuchel is allegedly interested in the transfer of two players from his former club, Chelsea FC.
On Friday night, the 49-year-old was formally presented as the Bundesliga giants new manager. Taking over for Julian Nagelsmann who was abruptly fired.
Six months after being fired by Chelsea, Tuchel has signed a two-year deal with Bayern until the summer of 2025. Making his managerial comeback.
Nagelsmann’s dismissal by Bayern was thought to have been motivated in part by his lack of direction in the transfer market. And Tuchel is already making preparations for the summer transfer season.
Edouard Mendy and Mateo Kovacic, who both have unclear futures at Stamford Bridge. They are two of the players Tuchel is hoping to entice to Bavaria, Calciomercato claimed.
Upon his arrival in 2020, Mendy originally replaced Kepa Arrizabalaga as the Blues’ first-choice goalkeeper. But the Senegal international has since dropped behind the Spaniard in the pecking order.
Mendy’s finger fracture hasn’t helped his situation. But the 31-year-old is also rumored to be holding off on signing a new contract at Stamford Bridge. Since his current one is set to terminate in 2025.

Kovacic, a regular in the middle of the field, is set to become a free agent at the conclusion of the next campaign. But it appears that no talks are being held to extend his contract past 2024.
Chelsea might be willing to let Kovacic go this summer before he leaves for nothing the following season. But Bayern will face stiff competition for his services.
Manchester United, Liverpool, and Manchester City are all reportedly paying attention to the player’s situation.
Although the 28-year-old has played frequently for Graham Potter this season when fit.
