Thomas Tuchel Might Be Fired “Immediately” If Bayern Munich Loses To Lazio

If Bayern Munich loses to Lazio in the round of 16 of the Champions League, head coach Thomas Tuchel may be fired immediately.

After an appalling run of play that has seen them drop ten points behind Bayer Leverkusen in the race for the Bundesliga title, the German powerhouses have already confirmed that Tuchel will depart at the end of the current campaign.

The Champions League was not exempt from the misery.

90 min adds Bayern’s first-leg loss to Lazio in the round of 16 last month left them vulnerable to elimination from the competition should

they fail to overcome that deficit in Tuesday’s return leg.

Tuchel Might Leave Immediately

Bayern might even immediately terminate Tuchel’s contract if they don’t advance to the quarterfinals, according to Sky in Germany.

For Bayern, advancing to the next round of the competition is essential; even a disappointing loss is anticipated to be sufficient to maintain his position through the end of the campaign. In the event that Bayern are eliminated, a contract termination is ‘likely’.

According to reports, club officials are becoming more and more worried about the team’s results and believe Tuchel’s dedication to the cause has diminished since his departure was made official. With ten games remaining, Bayern has dropped to ten points behind Bayer Leverkusen in the Bundesliga standings after winning just one of their last four games.

Bayern executives are concerned that more harm could be done before the season ends without change in the dugout. They had hoped that Tuchel would be able to stabilize the ship until the end of the season, when move for top managerial target Xabi Alonso would be feasible.

Although Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, the former manager of Manchester United, is willing to step in temporarily, Bayern has not yet decided who would be the best choice to succeed Tuchel in the short term.
