Arsenal and Liverpool have begun conversations with Real Madrid player Ferland Mendy’s representation about joining the Premier League this summer.
This summer, the left-back will have just one year left on his contract at the Bernabeu, and the Spaniards are looking to cash in on the Frenchman.
That’s because Real are confident of signing Bayern Munich’s Alphonso Davies, who has yet to sign a new contract at the Allianz Arena and is out of contract in 2025.
According to L’Equipe, many Premier League clubs are aware of Mendy’s availability.
Metro confirms Arsenal and Liverpool are believed to have already made contact with Mendy’s representatives.
This season, Mikel Arteta has struggled to commit to a left-back, alternating between Oleksandr Zinchenko, Jakub Kiwior, and Takehiro Tomiyasu.
Liverpool is looking for competition for Andy Robertson, who has had a season marred by injuries.

However, the club’s interest may vary depending on who takes over for Jurgen Klopp because the next manager of the team will need to approve the transfer.
Mendy is not interested in moving to the northeast, despite rumors that Newcastle and Manchester United are also keen.
Mendy, 28, paid £42 million to go from Lyon to Madrid in 2019.
With 112 games under his belt, he has four goals for the team.
Mendy has nine France caps.
