Toronto Wolfpack have ruled out playing any of their Super League matches in mainland Europe next season. After winning promotion from the Championship, beating Featherstone Rovers in the Million Pound Game, the Canadian outfit have been planning their schedule for 2020. The official 2020 Super League fixture list will be released on Tuesday but Toronto have already been assessing options. They have previously spoken about the possibility of playing some of their games in Copenhagen, Barcelona and Dublin, while they were offered the chance to hold a game in the Netherlands. The consideration comes down to the fact that they can not play any games in Toronto until the middle of April due to the harsh winter conditions, therefore, they will need to move three “home” matches overseas. A lack of time appears to have scuppered plans to head over to mainland Europe and chairman Bob Hunter says they “will be in the UK”.
