Tottenham Devises Cunning Strategy To Defeat Manchester United, While Chelsea Invests On A Spectacular Defensive Upgrade

According to a rumor, Tottenham Hotspur are interested in utilizing Emerson Royal as a counterweight to help them win the race to recruit Denzel Dumfries from Inter Milan.

Dumfries has long been linked with a move to the Premier League, and Tottenham are among his admirers as they seek to improve their full-back positions.

According to Inter Live, they are still interested in the Netherlands international, as are Manchester United and Chelsea.

The difference in their chases is that Tottenham may try to arrange a part-exchange agreement, whereas the other two suitors may make cash bids.

According to the source, Tottenham want to offer Emerson to Inter in exchange for Dumfries.

Spurs estimate Emerson is worth €35 million (£29.99 million), but Inter have set a €50 million (£42.85 million) asking price for Dumfries. In other words, Ange Postecoglou’s team may strike a deal for €15 million (£12.85 million) net.

Despite their long-standing interest in Emerson, Inter is unlikely to accept the plan since they want Dumfries to be sold for cash.

Obviously, they’d have to find a means to replace him, but it appears they’d prefer to look at things individually.

Whether that means Man Utd or Chelsea might have a better chance than Tottenham for Emerson is not strictly stated, but it could be the case.

Emerson, on the other hand, has divided opinion since Tottenham took him from Barcelona in 2021, but remains under contract until 2026.

He is currently competing with Pedro Porro for the right-back berth at Tottenham, but it is the Spaniard who has been the more regular starter recently.

Nevertheless, Postecoglou has put Emerson on as a substitute fairly frequently.

Tottenham should focus on other priorities

In reality, the right-back department should remain as it is for the time being, since Tottenham have more pressing issues to address.

Because of injuries, they need more depth at center-back and on the wings, and they need more depth in central midfield because they rely on two players who will soon be unavailable due to the Africa Cup of Nations (Yves Bissouma and Pape Matar Sarr).

Finding a centre-forward to cover Harry Kane’s vacuum, despite captain Son Heung-min’s good form, may be higher on their priority list than improving their right-back alternatives.
