Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed the appointment of Ange Postecoglou as their manager, making him the first Australian to manage a Premier League club.
The 57-year-old joins the club after a trophy-laden two-year stint at Celtic, when he won five of the six domestic trophies available to him, including a treble in 2022-23.
“Ange brings a positive mentality and a fast, attacking style of play,” chairman Daniel Levy told the club’s official website.
“He has a strong track record of developing players and an understanding of the importance of the link from the academy – everything that is important to our club. We are excited to have Ange join us as we prepare for the season ahead.”

Cristian Stellini, Conte’s assistant, took over in North London for four games before being sacked after a 6-1 loss to Newcastle United.
Ryan Mason then took over for the rest of the 2022-23 season, though Tottenham’s quest for a permanent replacement for Conte hit a snag.
Julian Nagelsmann, Luis Enrique, Arne Slot, Vincent Kompany, and Xabi Alonso were all strongly linked with the job before ruling themselves out.

Spurs have officially settled on Postecoglou, finalizing a contract that will keep the Australian at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium until 2027, with his backroom staff to be confirmed “in due course.”
Postecoglou will now be faced with ending Tottenham’s trophy drought, which began in 2008, and restoring the club’s place in the Premier League’s top four.
A turbulent 2022-23 campaign saw them finish eighth in the standings, their lowest place since 2008-09 and one that saw them miss out on European qualification for the next season.
