Tottenham Hotspur have completed the signing of Pedro Porro from Sporting Lisbon until the end of the season with an obligation to buy.
The former Manchester City youngster joins Spurs in the winter transfer window after Arnaut Danjuma. His move will become permanent on a five-and-a-half-year deal at the end of the current campaign.
Porro leaves Sporting only one year after joining permanently from Manchester City, having previously spent two years on loan with Ruben Amorim’s side and winning the Primeira Liga title in 2021.
Tottenham were thought to be closing in on a deal to sign the Spain international over the weekend, but the deal was called off after Sporting backtracked on the terms.
Porro, who appeared to wave goodbye to Sporting fans during the weekend’s Taca da Liga defeat to Porto, was said to be “distraught” at the collapse, but Spurs executives quickly reached a full agreement.

Tottenham are said to have paid €45m (£39.7m) for Porro, who leaves Sporting after 12 goals and 20 assists in 98 appearances across all competitions.

The 23-year-old joined Man City from Girona in 2019, but he spent the 2019-20 season on loan at Real Valladolid and did not play a single game for the Premier League champions.
Porro joins the club after the departures of Djed Spence and Matt Doherty, the former of whom has joined Joe Rodon at Rennes for the remainder of the 2022-23 season.
As a result, Porro will directly compete with Emerson Royal for the right-wing back position in Tottenham’s starting lineup, and he could make his Premier League debut against former club Manchester City on Sunday.
