Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly on the verge of agreeing personal terms with Brentford goalkeeper, David Raya.
According to the Evening Standard, the Spanish shot-stopper has given Tottenham the green light. And he is set to agree terms with them on a personal basis.
Hugo Lloris, who is expected to depart the club this summer after 11 years and more than 400 games. Raya has been named by Spurs as their top priority to replace him.
In contrast, Spurs and Brentford have placed different values on the 27-year-old Spaniard.
Spurs are hesitant to pay Brentford’s £40 million asking price and are hoping to negotiate a lesser price instead.
Raya has drawn interest from Manchester United and Chelsea as well. But Spurs are optimistic about completing a deal for a player with one year left on his contract.
Mark Flekken’s £11 million transfer to Brentford from Freiburg has made Raya’s departure possible.

In an interview with The Beautiful Game Podcast earlier this week, Brentford Technical Director Lee Dykes stated that replacing Raya is not a problem. Though, it must be done for the benefit of everyone involved.
In 30 Premier League appearances for Brentford this season, Raya recorded 12 clean sheets. Spurs are drawn to his superb distribution as they get ready for life under new head coach Ange Postecoglou.
