Tottenham Manager Antonio Conte is reportedly interested in a return to Juventus if the Bianconeri split ways with Massimiliano Allegri.
The latter took over at Turin in 2014 and won five consecutive Serie A titles before leaving in 2019, although he will return in the summer of 2021.
Under Allegri’s leadership, Juventus finished fourth in the 2021-22 season, and the Old Lady have also had a slow start to the new season.
Allegri’s team have won just two of their first seven league games to sit ninth in the table, and their most recent game was a 1-0 loss to newly promoted Monza.
Following that defeat, the Juventus manager was forced to leave the stadium with a security escort, and his time at the Allianz Stadium appears to be limited, with director Pavel Nedved reported to be willing to re-hire Conte.
Antonio Conte Open To Shock Return To Juventus?
Should Juventus decide to dismiss Allegri, Il Bianconero reports that Conte will ‘gladly’ return to Turin for another spell in charge, despite his rocky relationship with chairman Andrea Agnelli.
Conte and Agnelli clashed over the club’s transfer policy at the end of the former’s tenure in 2014, and the feud continued when Conte was spotted giving the middle finger to his former boss while at Inter Milan in 2021.
Agnelli allegedly blocked Conte’s return in 2019 as Maurizio Sarri replaced Allegri instead, but Agnelli may now try to bury the hatchet with Conte due to Juve’s lacklustre results thus far this season.
According to the report, Conte and Agnelli are now on good terms, and the Tottenham manager has returned to Turin for a family vacation during the international break.

Agnelli earlier downplayed his feud with Conte over the middle-finger issue, telling Striscia La Notizia: “Every now and then the passion of our work makes us go over the line of good manners. Collaboration with Conte ended well. Those were gestures of affection.”
Conte was appointed as Nuno Espirito Santo’s replacement at Tottenham at the end of 2021, but he is expected to leave for a short time during the club’s difficult moment in the 2021-22 season.
However, the Premier League and Serie A champion has stayed on to lead the Lilywhites back into the Champions League, despite having less than a year left on his contract.
