Tottenham defender Destiny Udogie has been left out of Italy’s team as a precaution before of Tottenham’s match against Aston Villa.
The withdrawal of Udogie caused great consternation in the Italian media, leaving Spurs fans to believe that the former Udinese wing-back was yet another name to add to their expanding injury list.

Long-term absentees for Spurs include James Maddison, Mick van de Ven, Manor Solomon, Ryan Sessegnon, and Ivan Perisic, with Richarlison also scheduled to miss the match against Villa on November 26 due to groin surgery.
However, our colleagues at football.london understand that Udogie’s absence is due to the injury he suffered in the Premier League against Fulham last month, which led to him missing the victory at Crystal Palace. He was fit enough to return to face Chelsea, lasting only 55 minutes before picking up a second yellow card to be sent off.
Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou had said ahead of that game: “Destiny is still working his way through it – not ruled him out yet. It’s a 50-50 situation at this stage as to whether he’ll be available.”
Fourth-placed Spurs are currently just a point ahead of Villa in the table. They have lost their last two fixtures, a 4-1 defeat to Chelsea and a 2-1 loss at Wolves.
