Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly on the verge of sealing the signing of Leeds United midfielder, Archie Gray in a £35 million deal.
According to Sky Sports as reported by London World, the 18-year-old has completed his medical examination with the north-London club.
The publication also stated that the transfer is moving quickly in the weeks before the 2024/25 Premier League season kicks off. Even after a medical and personal terms were agreed upon, there is still a fee that needs to be paid.
Brentford, Tottenham’s London rivals, made an initial £35 million approach on Saturday, but Leeds turned it down. Thomas Frank’s team were the early favorites to sign the England under-21 player. Nonetheless, Gray is now anticipated to arrive in London with Spurs.
Last season, the midfielder had a breakout year at Elland Road, making 52 appearances across all competitions.
As Premier League suitors waited in line to make a move with the Yorkshire star after Daniel Farke’s team only missed out on securing a return to the top division. His self-assurance and tidy work in the middle of the park attracted attention.

Gray, the son of former Burnley, Leeds United, and Nottingham Forest striker Archie Gray, had his debut appearance in a first team squad in 2021 when he was 15 years old as he named among the substitutes against Arsenal.
According to the BBC, Liverpool and Chelsea are also considering Gray and prepared to move quickly if Leeds United and Spurs’ continuing transfer drama encounters another roadblock.
