Tottenham manager, Ange Postecoglou has reportedly urged the club’s hierarchy to sign a new central defender in the January transfer window.
Genoa star defender, Radu Drăgușin is one of Spurs’ targets, and over the past week or so, their duel with Napoli has received plenty of attention in Italy.
The most recent information about Tottenham and Naples’s continued pursuit of the 21-year-old is accessible on TuttoMercatoWeb.
To bring the deal closer to Genoa’s demands for the defender, Walter Mazzarri’s side have been attempting to include one or two players from their team.
Napoli still haven’t reached an agreement, and the north London club has made their task more difficult.
According to TMW as reported by Sport Witness, Spurs have “re-established contact” with Genoa in the last few hours with the target of overtaking the Serie A defending champions in the transfer race.
There are even rumors that Tottenham will launch a “decisive” attack to finalize the Romanian international’s transfer.
The possible fee that Tottenham could offer is not mentioned. For their part, Genoa are requesting €30 million in order to permit Drăgușin’s sale this month.
Bayern Munich have also been reported to be in the race to sign the Romanian youngster as they currently face crises in the heart of their defence.

The defender, who can play across the back-line joined Genoa from Juventus in the summer for €5 million after series of loan spell Sampdoria, Salernitana and of course, Genoa.
The 21-year-old has 22 matches across all competitions this season. Scoring two goals and provided an assist.
