Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly submitted an offer for Feyenoord defender, Lutsharel Geertruida as they are keen to sign the Netherlands international.
According to the Hard Tackle, Spurs have gone ahead of Liverpool to sign Geertruida by making a contract offer for him.
the Eredivisie outfit are said to be requesting between €20 and €25 million in exchange for his departure during the summer transfer window.
Since making his way into the Feyenoord first team, Geertruida has been a reliable player for the team.
The Dutchman arrived from Sparta Rotterdam in July 2012 and has been with the Eredivisie team for more than ten years. And since making his senior bow, he hasn’t looked back.
Over the past few seasons, the 23-year-old has been a constant at the defense for Feyenoord, growing stronger each time.
In 48 appearances throughout all competitions in the 2023–24 season, Geertruida assisted on five goals and scored nine goals himself.
Meanwhile, since making his international debut in March 2023, Geertruida has been a mainstay in the Dutch national team.

With his performances for Feyenoord, the adaptable Dutch defender has drawn interest from a number of prestigious clubs throughout Europe. And a move to the Premier League is imminent. Among his potential suitors are Liverpool and Tottenham.
The financial means to pay €20–25 million to acquire Geertruida during the summer transfer window is available to Tottenham and Liverpool. The 23-year-old Dutchman’s reaction to Spurs’ contract offer will be interesting to watch.
