Tottenham is interested in Manchester United academy product Angel Gomes, but the England international has already approved a return to Old Trafford.

At the age of six, Gomes joined the Red Devils’ youth squad. He progressed through the ranks at Carrington until departing in 2020. The small midfielder decided to transfer to Lille in Ligue 1 for his development after only five Premier League matches.
Gomes has benefited greatly from the transfer. Now a full England international, the 24-year-old has shown to be a superb deep-lying playmaker for Thomas Tuchel, the new Three Lions manager.
However, as his contract expires at the conclusion of the current season, Gomes is free to sign a pre-agreement with any foreign team in order to join on a free transfer, reports Four Four Two.
Although the player has already openly supported a return to the Theatre of Dreams over a transfer to North London, GiveMeSport is now claiming that Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy is directly involved in talks to capture the star this month.
Instead of making a hasty deal before the January transfer window closes, Gomes is probably going to wait until the summer.
Gomes is valued at €25 million, per Transfermarkt. When Premier League action resumes this weekend, Tottenham will play Brentford.
