Traore not looking to prove Villa point

Wolves winger Adama Traore says he will not be looking to prove a point when his side entertain former club Aston Villa in the Premier League on Sunday. Traore first made the move to England when he joined Villa from Barcelona in 2015 but endured a difficult time at Villa Park.
He failed to make a single top-flight start during his one season with the club, featuring just 11 times as a substitute.
Villa were relegated at the end of the 2015-16 season and Traore subsequently joined Middlesbrough, where he enjoyed a much more successful spell before Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo paid a reported £18million to bring him to Molineux in 2018.
After being in and out of the side last season, Traore has seemingly established himself at Wolves this term as he has started eight of their 11 Premier League games to date, scoring both goals in last month’s impressive 2-0 victory over reigning champions Manchester City.
The 23-year-old will be hoping to secure another start against Villa on Sunday but does not feel he has anything to prove against his former club, with his focus instead on impressing his current team and manager. “I have to prove it to the manager, Nuno, who has trusted me, and the team and myself,” Traore told the Express & Star. “I don’t think I have to prove anything to anyone. I’m not thinking about anything outside of our team or what other people think.”
Traore feels he has grown as a player since leaving Villa although he admits he did benefit from his experience at the club, even though he struggled for game-time and the club ultimately suffered relegation from the Premier League.
He added: “It’s always hard when the team comes down but I knew I was still a young player and I used it to make me a better person.”
