Trippier comfortable with life in Spain

Kieran Trippier says he is enjoying his time at Atletico Madrid and the club has helped him settle very quickly. The England right-back made the move to the continent in the summer after leaving Tottenham following four years with the club.
Atletico paid Tottenham a fee in the region of £20million in July, as Trippier became the first English player to represent the club in 95 years.
The former Manchester City trainee has had a good start to life with Diego Simeone’s side as they currently lie fifth in the table.
Despite the fact their attack has been below par this term, Trippier has been part of a defence which has conceded only five goals in nine league matches.
The 29-year-old launched himself onto the world stage after impressing for England in the 2018 World Cup, with a stunning free-kick in their 2-1 semi-final loss to Croatia the highlight.
However, he had a poor season for Tottenham last year and was allowed to leave by boss Mauricio Pochettino.
Trippier has no regrets about the move and says he has settled in really well at the Metropolitano Stadium. “People are welcoming to me and my family and when they see me in Madrid; they tell me that I’m doing well,” he said. “We can only thank everyone for making me feel at home so quickly, for making my family smile and making life easier.”
Trippier’s next game is likely to come in the Champions League on Tuesday as Atletico prepare to play host to Bundesliga outfit Bayer Leverkusen.
Simone’s side drew their first game in the group 2-2 with Juventus before comfortably beating Lokomotiv Moscow 2-0 on October 1.
