Tottenham boss Antonio Conte has escalated his dispute with Chelsea rival Thomas Tuchel during the latest ‘Battle of the Bridge’ between the two London rivals, claiming it would have been “well deserved” had he tripped the German amid wild goal celebrations. Tuchel raced by Conte on his way down the touchline after the Blues’ second goal in a thrilling 2-2 tie, which came courtesy of Reece James.
The Spurs coach was disappointed at the moment, with Harry Kane scoring a late equaliser for the visitors, and claims he would have taken action if he had seen an opportunity to stick out a leg, having previously clashed with a fellow coach while witnessing his own side score.
Would Conte Have Tripped Tuchel?
Following their heated touchline spats during the thrilling 2-2 draw between Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur at Stamford Bridge on Sunday, Antonio Conte took a swipe at Thomas Tuchel on Instagram.
The Italian put out a clip of Tuchel racing past him down the touchline following Chelsea’s second goal, stating that he wished he’d tripped the German up.
“Lucky I didn’t see you, making you trip over would have been well deserved,” Conte wrote, along with three laughing face emojis.

Why Did Conte And Tuchel Argue?
For the first time at Stamford Bridge, two passionate characters clashed when Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg cancelled out Kalidou Koulibaly’s brilliant opener for Chelsea.
Tuchel was less than pleased when a riled-up Conte celebrated in his direction, despite the Blues’ insistence that a free-kick should have been granted to them prior to Spurs’ goal.
The duo had to be separated due to an unseemly melee, but neither seemed satisfied as they squared up again at the final whistle.
Tuchel hesitated to let go of Conte’s arm during a post-game handshake, appearing to hint that the Italian should look him in the eye during such formalities.

Said actions were not well received, and both individuals were ultimately given red cards, which will cause them to serve touchline bans for future Premier League games.
