With a commanding 5-0 victory over London rivals Chelsea on Tuesday, Arsenal took a three-point lead atop the Premier League standings.
Leandro Trossard’s goal and braces from Ben White and Kai Havertz ensured Mikel Arteta’s team won effortlessly. The Gunners defeated Chelsea by their greatest margin of victory ever at the Emirates Stadium. While the Blues suffered their second-largest Premier League loss ever.
According to Football London, following the game, Arsenal’s goal scorer, Trossard could not help but add insult to injury by posting an inflammatory message on social media. He posted a red love heart emoji on Instagram along with the caption, “London is red!”
With this victory on Tuesday, Arteta’s team is well-prepared for Sunday’s north London derby against Tottenham. The victory over Mauricio Pochettino’s team has kept the pressure on title rivals Manchester City and Liverpool. Even though the Gunners will know that the title is still out of their hands.
In the Merseyside derby against Everton on Wednesday, Jurgen Klopp’s team will be at the Goodison Park. In the meantime, City will head to Brighton as the defending champions are confident that if they win their final six games, they will retain the Premier League title for a record fourth time in a row.

When questioned about the psychological impact of his team’s victory over Chelsea, Arteta responded.
“Great for us obviously and for the confidence and the belief that we can do it as well. That we can come to these stages against big teams and perform and win games the way we’ve done it tonight.”
