Two Man United Stars Record Shocking Stats Amorim Can’t Ignore

Marcus Rashford’s future is uncertain, as Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim keeps leaving the England international out of his squad.

But given how poorly Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee are performing, there is a question about whether Amorim should eventually give Rashford a chance.

On Sunday night, United succeeded to defeat Fulham 1-0 on the road, but it took a late deflected goal from Lisandro Martinez to seal the victory.

A shocking statistic demonstrates how little of an impact Zirkzee and Hojlund had on the game at Craven Cottage, as the Red Devils didn’t really pose a serious goal threat.

According to Caught Offside, throughout the entire game, the two strikers only touched the penalty area once and had no shots between them. In his 32 minutes on the pitch, Zirkzee only managed eight touches, and neither player created any chances for their teammates.

With neither Hojlund nor Zirkzee appearing to show any signs of improving to the level needed to lead the line for a big club, United cannot continue to perform like this.

Rashford, 27, may not have a long-term future at Old Trafford, and Amorim may not be satisfied with him, but he needs to be reconsidered back to the fold.

Although Rashford hasn’t played at his best in a while, he has at least demonstrated recently that he still has what it takes to finish off chances.

Amorim’s reliance on the striking duo for the remainder of the season is unattainable.
