Tyson Fury Challenges Anthony Joshua: “He’s An Idiot And I’ll Knock Him Out”

Current WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury appears to have recovered the motivation to fight after saying he was considering retirement after his most recent bout in April, where he knocked out Dillian Whyte.

Fury has recently launched a challenge to Anthony Joshua, the former WBA, IBF, WBO, and IBO heavyweight champion, who will defend his belt against Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk on August 20.

What Was Tyson Fury’s Threats?

“Anthony Joshua is an idiot and I will knock him out. If he beats Usyk, he has to fight me for free in England, for the fans. Not for hundreds of millions overseas or in a foreign country, let it be here in the UK,”  Tyson Fury stated.

Fury even demanded that the show be broadcast on free TV and with free tickets to provide a new treat for British fans, akin to the enormous display Fury put on in his fight against Whyte at Wembley.

“It would be seen by 30 million people for free. That you don’t win for money. Let’s do this for the UK fans. Let’s see who the real man of the people is. I know I am, that’s why I’m willing to do it for free in the UK,” Fury added. “He won’t want to do that, he’ll want to travel overseas because he’s a businessman. And I don’t give a fuck about business.”

Fury’s only demand was that Joshua steps up and defends his belts against Usyk, despite the fact that the boxing community as a whole does not have much faith in Joshua’s ability. Mexican Gilberto “Zurdo” Ramirez also stated that if Joshua moved up in class, he would challenge him because he is the most reasonable opponent for his fighting style.

Meanwhile, Fury offers to train Joshua in order to keep him in peak shape for the bout against Usyk. But AJ turned down the offer.

Fury stated, “”I would have coached him very easily to beat Usyk but he didn’t want my help because I would definitely train him to win and he obviously didn’t want to win.”

Gipsy King initially forewarned that if Usyk held his belt and wanted to team up against Fury, he would demand $500 million to put the gloves back on because he was “tired.”

So the second option he provides for taking on the challenge is free fighting, which is entirely accessible to everyone.
