Wales and Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey was named the UEFA Man of the Match for his side’s 3-0 victory over Russia last night as Chris Coleman’s side secured their place in the last 16.
Gareth Bale is undoubtedly Wales’ star player, but Ramsey was superb tonight, with the Arsenal midfielder opening the scoring with a composed finish before later teeing up Bale, who added gloss to the scoreline.
Ramsey broke forwards with regularity and kept the ball extremely well, as demonstrated by his pass accuracy rate of 84%. The Arsenal star created six chances and had four attempts himself as he built upon his impressive display against England.

Wales as a whole were excellent, with Ashley Williams and Ben Davies performing very impressively. Coleman’s team showed impressive resilience to bounce back from their disappointing defeat to England, when Daniel Sturridge scored a late winner for the Three Lions.
Last night’s performance demonstrated the cohesion and passion that is present in the Wales’ set-up, and the Dragons will have reason to believe that they can progress even further in this tournament, especially given that they are able to call upon players of the quality of Bale and Ramsey.
The identity of Wales’ Last 16 opponents aren’t yet known, but they will have no fear whoever they face.
