Usain Bolt has told Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho to forget about signing Atletico Madrid forward Antoine Griezmann this summer and to concentrate his efforts on Alexis Sanchez.
The eight-time Olympic gold medalist is a huge fan of the Red Devils and called the club’s in-house TV channel earlier this season after a last-gasp win against Middlesbrough.
Mourinho, 54, wants to sign Griezmann this summer and the club are prepared to trigger his £85million release clause to do so.
Sanchez, 28, has 13 months to run on his deal at the Emirates and Bolt says he’d prefer to see the Chile international at Old Trafford.
‘I know Alexis plays for Arsenal – which he shouldn’t! Bolt told FoxSports.
‘He would be great [for Manchester United].
‘I think he is a player that I’ve always said over the years we need someone who is capable of picking the ball up and creating chances for other people. He’s proven himself to be one of the best.’
