Ruud van Nistelrooy has reportedly revealed he will find out his Manchester United’s future within the next day as Ruben Amorim prepares to takeover as the new manager.
After Erik ten Hag was fired, the former United striker took over as interim manager for the last four games, leading the team to three wins and a draw.
However, Van Nistelrooy’s situation is unclear because Amorim is anticipated to bring in his own backroom staff. He has however stated his wish to remain and collaborate with Amorim. Even acknowledging that he hopes to eventually take over as the club’s permanent manager.
After Amorim’s last match as Sporting Lisbon’s manager against Braga, the two men are scheduled to hold important talks.
According to Birmingham Live, in an emotional interview with BBC Sport following United’s resounding 3-0 victory over Leicester City, Van Nistelrooy said: “I really enjoyed it, it’s been a short but amazing period. We are in an uncertain position but we tried to do our jobs and help the club which is important.

“(The club hierarchy) said, ‘okay, it’s going to be four [games], it’s going to be announced a new head coach’ etc, etc. So, for me, it is important to have that clarity and I appreciated that.
He went on to add, “As I said, I want to continue doing that in the future and now also the communication was okay, [that] ‘after the block of four games, there will be communication towards you and your colleagues that are in an uncertain situation’. So, I expect to hear today or tomorrow from them.”
