Chelsea starter Victor Moses has revealed that he has no complaints about Antonio Conte’s decision to play him as a wing-back.
The Nigeria international has been one of the unexpected successes of the season so far in his new position, and has played a major part as Conte’s side have made an impressive start to the campaign.
As reported by Complete Sports Nigeria, Moses, who is currently preparing for his country’s World Cup qualifier against Algeria, said: “I can’t say I’m not happy playing as a wing-back.
“I’m the type who gives his all to his team regardless of where I’m playing from. I’m a forward minded player but I don’t mind playing anywhere to help my team.
“Club side and national team are not the same, I can’t say where the manager will play me but I’m ready to give my best in any role.”
Moses appeared to have no future at Chelsea after he was sent out on loan on three occasions, but, after impressing in pre-season, the 25-year-old has now established himself as a key member of the team.
Capable of making a significant contribution both defensively and going forwards, Moses has been successful with 80% of his attempted passes in the Premier League this season.
Chelsea appear to be genuine contenders for the Premier League title this season, with the Blues, who are currently second in the table, having played some excellent, free-flowing football since Conte made the switch to a 3-4-3 formation.
