After winning the Serie A title on Thursday night, Napoli star Victor Osimhen was questioned about his future and he provided a resolute response.
Chelsea and Manchester United are reportedly both interested in signing the 24-year-old this summer. In 34 games this season, the Nigerian international scored 27 goals and contributed five more assists.
After their dismal goal-scoring performance in the Premier League this season, the Blues are in desperate need of a new striker heading into the following campaign.
Chelsea are now wallowing in the bottom part of the table, nine points clear of the relegation zone, with just 31 goals scored in 33 games this season.
After a disastrous 2022–23 season, Todd Boehly plans to revamp the senior team and sell a number of players as he attempts to recruit world-class reinforcements in crucial positions.
According to reports, Man United are prioritizing a transfer for Randal Kolo Muani over Osimhen, giving Chelsea a major advantage in their pursuit of the Napoli attacker.
Given that Osimhen’s contract is due to expire in 2025, the Italian team plans to demand a sum in the region of £100m.
Given his height, pace, and physicality, the Nigerian has been among the best finishers in Europe this season and possesses all the qualities necessary to succeed in the Premier League.
According to a Calciomercato report, Boehly is prepared to quadruple Osimhen’s present salary of €4.5m (£3.9m) in order to beat United to his signature this summer.
The Blues won’t be playing in Europe the next season, which might make it harder for them to persuade Osimhen that moving to Stamford Bridge is the right move, especially after a stellar campaign with Napoli in which they won the Serie A title.
What Did Osimhen Say About His Future?
With only five games remaining in the season, the 24-year-old’s equalizer helped Luciano Spaletti’s team draw 1-1 against Udinese and move 16 points clear of Lazio in second place, thus winning the title mathematically.
Asked about his future shortly after Napoli won their first Serie A title in 33 years, Osimhen replied, “It’s not the right time to discuss my future.
“I just want to enjoy this incredible title. I can’t wait to return to Napoli and hug the fans. I’m so happy for them.”

Osimhen is obviously not thinking about the transfer rumors that have linked him to a move to Stamford Bridge this summer.
However, with the Serie A title already decided, it might not be long before additional information about the Nigerian’s future surface.
