Victor Osimhen Set To Miss UCL First Leg Tie Against AC Milan

Victor Osimhen, Napoli’s top striker, will not play against Milan because of an injury. This is bad news for the Neapolitan club.

During this international break, the 24-year-old Nigerian striker participated in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers. He played the entire 90 minutes of a 1-0 defeat to Guinea-Bissau. He also featured in the second leg three days later against Guinea-Bissau. Nigeria won the reversed fixture, thanks to Moses Simon’s first half penalty.

Osimhen returned from international duty, as Napoli reported and claimed by Football Italia. He complained of pain in his left adductor muscle. His distractive lesion, which could delay him for several weeks was determined by a series of medical tests.

The Nigerian sensation is almost certain to miss their two UEFA Champions League quarterfinal matches against the Rossoneri. Which are set for April 12 and 18, as well as their upcoming match against the same opponent on April 2.

Osimhen, who has scored 21 goals in 23 Serie A starts this season, has been one of Napoli’s standout players.

His injury could spell bad news for Napoli as they look to win the double – the Scudetto and the Champions League – this season. The club will most likely hope the injury won’t be a long lay-off for their talismanic forward who has been the most influential player in their squad this season.
