Vinicius Jr. Set To Return From Injury In Next Real Madrid Champions League Clash

Vinicius Junior is expected to make a comeback from injury in Real Madrid’s Champions League match against Atalanta BC in Italy next week, according to head coach Carlo Ancelotti.

Due to a muscle issue, Vinicius has missed his team’s previous three games. He will also miss Saturday’s league encounter against Girona, but the Brazil international is returning to first-team training far earlier than anticipated.

Vinicius will be eligible for the Champions League match against Atalanta, which is a must-win match for the European champions, Ancelotti stated on Friday, assuming no unanticipated setbacks.

Real Madrid is just hanging on to a Champions League playoff berth after a dismal season in which they have only managed six points from five games, placing them in 24th place.

David Alaba is expected to recover from a major knee injury in January, according to Ancelotti, reports Sports Mole.

“It’s great news. We’re encouraged to see how well Vini Jr. has recovered from his injury. He won’t be available tomorrow but he should be ready for our next Champions League game,” said the head coach.

In all competitions this season, Real Madrid has only triumphed three times in away games, losing their past two games.

They will be going up against Girona, who have won all four of their La Liga games.
