Vinicius Junior reportedly has no plans to leave Real Madrid in the near future despite allegedly suffering more racial insults during Sunday’s La Liga match against Valencia.
The 22-year-old was sent off in the closing minutes of Carlo Ancelotti’s team’s 1-0 defeat after an altercation with Hugo Duro, and he stated after the game that “La Liga belongs to racists.”
Vinicius had paused the game in the second quarter to draw the attention of the referee to a group of fans who were reportedly racially abusing him.
The Brazil international has reportedly faced racist insults on several occasions this season in La Liga, and the incidents on Sunday brought back questions about his future.
According to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, the attacker has no plans to leave Bernabeu, with the South American determined to “stay and beat racism in Spain.”
Vinicius’ current contract is set to end in June 2024, but he is said to have already agreed to a new long-term contract, with an announcement expected this summer.

During the 2022-23 season, the attacker has been in superb form with Los Blancos, appearing in 54 games across all competitions and recording 23 goals and 21 assists.
“I asked him if he wanted to keep playing, and he stayed in the game,” Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti said after the game. Vinicius is very sad, he is angry. Something like this can’t happen in the world we live in.”
Los Blancos will play Rayo Vallecano in La Liga on Wednesday, but will be without Vinicius due to suspension.
