Van Dijk blasts “liars”
Virgil van Dijk appears to be the most likely of Liverpool’s out-of-contract trio to sign a new term at Anfield, but the club captain has been tight-lipped on his future, and there appears to be some tension currently due to persistent speculation.

Mohamed Salah and Trent Alexander-Arnold have also been questioned about their long-term futures at Liverpool. Salah has continually stated that he is no closer to agreeing to new terms, while Alexander-Arnold has been widely linked with a move to Real Madrid, but there are suggestions Van Dijk has signed a new contract and is keeping quiet out of respect for the other two players.
However, the 33-year-old has responded by calling out “liars” who have speculated about his future. “I’ve no idea,” he stated of his future after Liverpool’s loss to PSG. “I have no idea at the moment. I honestly have no idea at the moment. There are no talks or anything else on hold. I keep saying the same things. Listen, there are ten games left, and I am completely focused on them.
“You will be notified if there is any news. I don’t even recognize myself. Everyone is aware that some exchanges go place behind the scenes, but that is all. At the present, I have no idea what will happen next year. “If anyone claims to know, they are lying to your face.”
