Gabriel Jesus increased his pre-season goal count for Arsenal to four with a superb dinked finish in the Florida Cup against Premier League rivals Chelsea. After recently joining the Gunners for £45 million ($54 million), the Brazilian forward has made an immediate impact.
He appears to be the prolific No.9 that Mikel Arteta’s team has been looking for, with his superbly executed effort against London rivals in America emphasizing his importance to the cause at Emirates Stadium.

Martin Odegaard, Bukayo Saka, and Albert Sambi Lokonga all contributed to the impressive landmark set ahead of the 2022–23 season as Arsenal went on to score three more goals.
Did Arsenal’s Gabriel Jesus Sustain A Wound?
Jesus was replaced by Eddie Nketiah just before the hour mark, which disappointed those who were happy to see him maintain his excellent goal-scoring run after previous exploits against Nurnberg and Everton.
Although Arteta has attempted to downplay any injury concerns, he appeared to be nursing a knock.
Afterward, the Arsenal manager provided the following statement to reporters: Yeah he got a knock in the first half in his quad I think it was and it wasn’t very comfortable to continue and obviously we didn’t take any risks today.”
Asked whether Gabriel Jesus might develop into a Golden Boot candidate for the Gunners, Arteta responded as follows:
“I have no clue, we are in pre-season.
“What I can guarantee you is that he is going to do everything that he can to be the best player that he can, that’s it.”
After traveling back to north London, Arsenal will resume game on Saturday when they take on Sevilla in the Emirates Cup.
