Carlos Sainz was asked to sign a Barcelona jersey by a fan, but the Ferrari driver could not betray his loyalty to Real Madrid, and instead ignored the request and sped away.
Sainz has an army of fans owing to his day job, which involves driving one of the legendary red Ferrari F1 cars on race weekends. However, he was driving his personal vehicle when he was mobbed by a group of ecstatic fans this week.
The racer lowered the window of his black SUV greet the fans. However, in a conversation captured on camera, he immediately became much less cordial when approached by a hopeful fan carrying a Barcelona jersey.
The shirt, which had Lionel Messi’s name and number 10 on the back from his time with Los Cules, was offered to Sainz along with a pen for him to sign. However, as soon as the Ferrari star observed the colors, he quickly rejected the request.
He said in his native Spanish, “No, I’m not signing this,” which caused some of the crowd to laugh. While the F1 racer was driving away, the fan carrying the jersey yelled back, “Forca Barca.”

Sainz was born in Madrid and is a die-hard Real Madrid fan. Los Blancos made the 27-year-father, old’s Carlos, an honorary member in honor of his incredible rallying career.
And the younger of the duo has made no secret of his affection for Real Madrid. He has previously been pictured wearing team jersey on multiple occasions and has also appeared in several videos on the club’s social media channels.
While some on social media have perceived Sainz’s behaviour as inappropriate, the majority of online reaction and we as sports fans cannot help but admire Sainz’s devotion as a professional sportsman.
