Arsenal manager Arsène Wenger has confirmed the club has money available to spend in the summer should they wish to make additions to the squad.
The Arsenal coach refused to part with too much cash during the off season last year, and only signed one player in the form of goalkeeper Petr Cech.
The former Chelsea man has been a decent signing for the Gunners, keeping 12 clean sheets in the Premier League so far this season, but the north London club are five points off the top of the division.
Wenger has added big names to his side in the past couple of summers, including completing a club record deal for Mesut Özil and also bringing in Alexis Sánchez.
And the Frenchman has confirmed that there is money to spend again should he want to do so at the end of the campaign.
However, Wenger has indicated he is currently more concerned with the current squad as they look to end Arsenal’s 12-year wait for a Premier League title.
Wenger is quoted by Arsenal’s official website as saying: “If we want to buy at the end of the season, money will be available.
“At the moment we want to influence our performances and results. The money until the end of the season won’t help us.”
The Gunners lost their last league contest, an away match to Manchester United, and know a win at home to Swansea on Wednesday is crucial to keeping alive their chances of finishing first in the league.
