Many sources claim that European powerhouse AC Milan is reconsidering hiring former Wolves manager Julen Lopetegui.
Birmingham World confirms the Hammers have ‘revived’ their move for Lopetegui, according to the Guardian article, after learning of the most recent circumstances.
This summer, Lopetegui and Stefano Pioli were on the verge of signing a contract but Lopetegui’s appointment was met with opposition from the fans.
Decision-makers at the seven-time Champions League winners are reportedly thinking about taking a different approach after a petition was started opposing his possible hiring and the hashtag “Nopetegui” became popular in Italy.
The Italian daily La Gazzetta dello Sport has ‘chosen’ to heed the fans and will not name Lopetegui, according to the most recent update. They have also spoken with Paulo Fonesca, Christophe Galtier, Marcelo Gallardo, and Domenico Tedesco.
