West Ham will make enquiries to Manchester United about the availability of strikers Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial in the January transfer window.
The Hammers have struggled for goals this season and, according to the Telegraph, they will make an ambitious approach to try and agree a loan move for either Rashford or Martial.
Both players have been in and out of Jose Mourinho’s side of late, although it is unlikely the Portuguese manager will weaken his own options by allowing them to move to East London for the remainder of the season.
Rashford has been used off the bench in the last four Premier League matches, while Martial hasn’t featured at all in the last two games.
Mourinho has tended to play both youngsters from the left-hand side of his 4-3-3 formation, but Rashford hasn’t been as effective in that position, while Martial is struggling to re-find last season’s form.
West Ham would reportedly be happy to play Rashford at centre-forward due to the fact that their current crop of strikers have managed just two league goals between them this season.
However, Slaven Bilic’s side, who sit 13th in the league, will explore all options available to them in January, with out-of-favour players at other Premier League clubs reportedly the target.
Chelsea’s Michy Batshuayi, who has made just 10 substitute appearances in the league this season, is another option, while Liverpool’s Daniel Sturridge is also reportedly on the radar.
The Telegraph also state that Sassuolo’s Gregoire Defrel and Porto’s Laurent Depoitre are targets for a permanent transfer if one of the ambitious loan moves falls through.
