What Mour Can Go Wrong With Chelsea?

THE above was Brittish tabloid Sport Star headline after Jose Mourinho’s prevailing debacle got worse with a 2-1 defeat to West Ham at Upton Park.

Star midfielder NemanjaMatic , assistant first team coach SilvinoLouro and Mou himself were red-carded by ref Jon Moss. Matic’s red card in the first half was what sparked the spat.
The Blues midfielder was dismissed for two yellow card offences. And by the laws of the game he had to take an early shower.

However, while Moss was right to send off the midfielder, I felt the second yellow, though a very correct decision, might not have been had ref decided to officiate with a human face.

I saw the match live and as soon as Matic committed that needless foul close to the touchline and right under the nose of the assistant ref, I thought here we go. I was anxious for Moss’ verdict and thought the matter was over when the ref appeared to walk away from the incident, that until the assistant called Moss back and gave his opinion.

On the account of his assistant, Moss recalled Matic and produced a second yellow. Instantly my mind flashed back to Mourinho’s misguided and ill-informed castigations of the refs and wondered whether they might have informed refs unsympathetic dispositions to Mou and Blues cause.

Please, don’t insinuate conspiracy theory here. Matic committed a silly mistake and would have been very lucky to remain on the pitch had the ref chosen to officiate with a human face and dish out just a final warning. But, hello, I think Mou might have burnt that bridge of friendship between his team and some officials who might just be too happy to apply the laws to the letter in any matters concerning the Blues.

And it’s not just the refs, or opposing managers or journalists who seem to hate Mou and his Blues nowadays. Or how do you explain the excellent goalline decision that robbed Chelsea of a strike only on very marginal chance? The whole ball must cross the line, says the rule, remember?

And CescFabregas offside goal too was correctly chalked off. Of course, decisions went for and against the two teams. But I think Moss and his team had a good game and the better team won.
At the risk of sounding like a broken record, Mou should take responsibility for Chelsea’s alarming decline – five wins from 15 matches in all competitions, and five defeats from 10 league matches are not what you associate with a Mourinho’s side.

To bring things to sharper perspectives, Mou’s Blues lost only four league matches on the run to the title last season. So my advice?Mou needs to stand in front of a mirror, critically look at himself and think of how to arrest the rot or MOUR COULD BE GOING WRONG!
