Who are the Premier League’s busiest keepers?

With 10 games gone, we take a look at which keepers are called on most often in the Premier League. Manchester City’s Ederson leads the way in the Golden Glove battle thanks to five clean sheets. He does have a formidable defence in front of him, so that shouldn’t be a huge shock and the busiest keepers tend to be at clubs struggling at the wrong end of the table, with the odd exception.
1: Tim Krul, Norwich City
37 Saves in 720 minutes
Norwich City are in the midst of an injury crisis and they have real problems at the back, with key central defensive duo Christoph Zimmermann and Tim Klose among the huge list of absentees.
With that in mind, it shouldn’t come as any real surprise to see Canaries stopper Tim Krul has been the busiest keeper in the Premier League this season. The Dutchman has managed 37 saves in just eight games as he missed the defeats to Crystal Palace and Aston Villa through injury, with the Carrow Road club shipping in seven goals in his absence.
2: Bernd Leno, Arsenal
37 Saves in 900 minutes
Arsenal sit in fifth spot and have conceded 14 goals in 10 games but may not be quite so high in the standings if it wasn’t for shot-stopper Bernd Leno.
The former Bayer Leverkusen man has as many saves as Krul but has played in all 10 of the Gunners’ league games, so hasn’t been quite as busy as his Canaries counterpart.
3: Mathew Ryan, Brighton
35 Saves in 900 minutes
Brighton have the second-best defensive record in the bottom half of the table, with 14 goals conceded, and keeper Mathew Ryan has played a big part in that.
The Australian has managed 35 saves and has kept three clean sheets so far this season.
T4. Aaron Ramsdale, Bournemouth
32 Saves in 900 minutes
Sitting in a tie for fourth is Bournemouth stopper Aaron Ramsdale. The 21-year-old spent time on loan at AFC Wimbledon last season and has firmly established himself as the Cherries’ first-choice this term.
Ramsdale has conceded 13 goals so far and will attempt to keep a third clean sheet in a row when Bournemouth entertain Manchester United on Saturday.
T4. Martin Dubravka, Newcastle
32 Saves in 900 minutes
Newcastle seem destined to spend the season battling the drop and if they are to avoid relegation goalkeeper Martin Dubravka could hold the key.
Dubravka joins Ramsdale in a tie for fourth. He has conceded one more goal than his Cherries counterpart although he has also kept one more clean sheet.
*Spurs keeper Hugo Lloris deserves a mention with 30 saves in just 548 minutes of Premier League football before being sidelined with a dislocated elbow.
