The reason behind the inclusion of Moses Simon in Nigeria’s World Cup squad despite the Gent forward carrying a knock has been explained by a source close to the team.
Simon was initially ruled out of the World Cup by coach Gernot Rohr after sustaining an injury in training with scan afterwards revealing that the 22-year-old will be out for four to five weeks.
Coach Rohr later backtracked on his decision to drop the forward insisting on another scan to truly determine the length of time the forward will be away from the game. The scan took place yesterday.
However just like the first scan, the scan which was done in Abuja was contested by the player as the MRI Scan revealed he didn’t suffer any tear in his muscle as against what was first indicated by the ultrasound scan he had in Port Hacourt.
A third and final scan will now be performed on the Gent of Belgium wing forward in London, and the result of the scan will determine his possible inclusion in the squad when the final list is released.
