Ray Wilkins believes £80million would be enough to sign Alexis Sanchez from Arsenal.
The Chilean’s future remains the source of speculation as negotiations continue over a new deal at the Emirates.
Sanchez has been offered a £180,000-a-week contract but is holding out for at least £250,0000-a-week.
According to the Mirror, there have been concrete offers of around £400,000-a-week for Sanchez from the Chinese Super League.
And Wilkins believes Arsenal wouldn’t be able to turn away an extortionate offer from China.
“If Arsenal are looking and the Chinese are coming in with those kind of offers, I reckon that’s £80m for Sanchez. That’s Arsenal’s get out,” he told talkSPORT.
“He epitomises what a footballer should be. His work ethic, his ability is superb.
Despite suggesting £80m would be enough to land Sanchez, Wilkins feels Arsenal would struggle to find a substitute for the Chilean.
“He’s almost become irreplaceable for Arsenal. Wenger plays him when he just gets back from Chile.
“He’s now become so important. I think he’s brilliant, the guy’s great.”
