Willian insists his decision to stay at Chelsea was inspired by a desire to win more trophies and play attacking football.
The Brazilian wide-man, last season’s player of the year at Stamford Bridge, was wanted by Jose Mourinho at Manchester United.
He resisted the temptation of a move to Old Trafford in favour of a new four-year Chelsea deal because he believes Antonio Conte will lead them back to the top.
‘I have a great relationship with Jose, but I am Chelsea,’ said Willian.
‘When someone like him is interested in you then you are happy – but I signed the contract because I like being a Chelsea player and I see good things here.
‘That shows how much I want to stay here. The simple thing is that I want to win titles.
‘To win titles you have to improve and if we can do that then we have a great chance this season.
‘We have the players to do this – and the manager.’
