Wolves working on Traore’s hamstring issue

Wolves’ head of medical Phil Hayward has revealed Adama Traore is currently in his treatment room due to a right hamstring issue. Traore has enjoyed an excellent campaign for the Molineux outfit, seemingly being reborn after a summer remodelling his game to play as a right wing-back.
After Matt Doherty’s return to fitness, the 23-year-old’s form gave boss Nuno Espirito Santo a dilemma over whether to leave one of them out or tweak his formation to accommodate both.
Traore’s form has been such that Nuno has changed from the 3-5-2 that worked for his side in the second half of last term and back to his previously prefered 3-4-3, allowing the pair to dovetail nicely on the right.
They have helped Wolves taste defeat just once in their last 12 in all competitions and the team now look to have a handle on balancing their domestic and European commitments.
The latest of those games was Sunday’s 2-1 victory over Aston Villa and although he managed the full 90 minutes, Traore was carrying an injury.
Hayward confirmed the news on Tuesday, revealing the former Barcelona man is currently undergoing treatment at the training ground.
He told the club website: “In terms of the players who were meant to be on international duty, the only player who has been pulled out is Adama Traore, who had a problem with his right hamstring during the second half on Sunday. He is currently having treatment at Compton.”
Morgan Gibbs-White is also still sidelined with a back problem, while Willy Boly continues to recover from last month’s surgery on a fractured left fibula.
Nuno will hope to have both Traore and Gibbs-White fit for his team’s next outing after the international break when they head to Bournemouth on November 23.
They then take on Braga in the Europa League the following Thursday, a game in which a point apiece will guarantee both teams a place in the last 32.
