Wout Weghorst Set To Jet To Manchester United For Medical

Wout Weghorst seems set to force his desired transfer to Manchester United. This week, the Holland striker will fly to Manchester for a medical before joining United on loan for the rest of the season.

Weghorst is currently on-loan at Besiktas from Burnley and has no break clause in his deal with the Turkish club.

But United are willing to compensate them in order to sign Weghorst, who has made it clear to both Besiktas and the Clarets that he wants the chance to go to United.

Man United boss Erik ten Hag has turned to Weghorst after being priced out of a move for Atletico Madrid’s Joao Felix.

United have been offered the chance to sign the Portuguese forward, but Atletico are demanding a loan fee of £8m and want the English giants to fund Felix’s wages of £275,000-a-week.

United CEO Richard Arnold is not prepared to meet Atletico’s financial demands, but is keeping close tabs on the situation to see if the Spanish outfit lower their asking price before the transfer window closes.

In the meantime, Ten Hag is keen to add more firepower to his squad following the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo and believes Weghorst will offer him something different up front.
