Alonso is a major target for Liverpool to succeed Jurgen Klopp, who is leaving the team at the end of the current campaign. Bayern Munich, on the other hand, is also interested in the Spaniard as they look to replace Thomas Tuchel.
Leverkusen, though, is emphatic that they haven’t received any word about Alonso leaving this summer.
‘He has a contract until 2026 and we are planning the next season with him at full speed,’ Carro told Marca.
‘Nothing makes us think that he will not continue with us.
‘On the coaching level, he is the number one in the world at the moment.’
Alejandro Grimaldo, the left-back for Leverkusen, asserts that Alonso has a manager and “something special.”
It’s something we haven’t yet given much thought to. He’ll be able to decide what to do. In response to a question regarding Alonso’s possible departure, Grimaldo stated in a separate interview with Marca, “It is obvious that I would like to continue improving alongside him.”
Throughout my career, I had excellent instructors at both Barcelona and Benfica. But Xabi is not like the others.
“He is one of the few coaches in the football world that is like him.”
