Granit Xhaka will travel to London to finalise a move to Arsenal, according to a close friend of the Borussia Monchengladbach star.
Squawka reports that the Gunners are hopeful of completing a £30 million deal for the midfielder, who has been scouted by Arsene Wenger in person.
And it appears that the deal could be edging nearer to completion after a close friend of Xhaka, journalist Artan Muhaxhiri, has confirmed that the Switzerland international will travel to England to finalise a move to the Gunners.
The Facebook post translates as: “Just confirmed. Granit Xhaka is travelling to London to finalize an agreement with Arsenal FC! Congrats Granit.”
Xhaka made 27 appearances for Gladbach in the Bundesliga this season, scoring three goals from central midfield, though he did also receive three red cards.
His defensive workrate is Xhaka’s main assert, having won 54 of 135 tackles and 89 of 157 headed duels. His win rate of 40% and 57% aren’t exactly fantastic figures but he slows down the opposition which is precisely what Arsenal need in the middle of the park.
