Barcelona teenage defender, Alejandro Balde has extended his contract at the club which last through 2028.
The 19-year-old full back started the Catalan club’s UEFA Champions League opener against Royal Antwerp at Camp Nou. He contributed in his side’s 5-0 victory against the Belgian side.
Now, he has been rewarded with a five-year deal at the club which indicates him cementing his place at the left-back position in the team.
Barca announced the deal on their official website: “FC Barcelona and the player Alejandro Baldehave reached an agreement for a new contract which will take the player through to 30 June 2028. The buy out clause is set at 1bn euros.
“The signing of the new contact for the youth team product will take place on Thursday 21 September at 1.15pm CEST at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper will (with) the following agenda: Signature by player and words from president Joan Laporta and from the player Alejandro Balde.”
Balde, who joined FC Barcelona’s La Masia in 2011 as an eight-year-old, advanced through the age groups with rapidity.
He made his first team outings in the 2020–21 season. Making his debut in a preseason friendly against Nàstic de Tarragona.
The Spaniard made his Champions League bow in September 2021 against Bayern Munich when he replaced Jordi Alba.

He showed signs of talent during the 21–22 season. And by 2022–23, he had solidified himself as a first-team player and the left-sided back of choice.
Balde has so far made 55 appearances for the Barça first team. 42 of which were as a starter. In those games, he has scored one goal and provided six assists.
