Zidane admits he would want Paul Pogba at Real Madrid

Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane has responded to speculation over his club’s transfer activity, insisting that “every team” would like to sign Paul Pogba.

Pogba moved from Manchester United to the Turin giants in 2012 and quickly established himself as a key member of the first team, going on to win four straight scudetti.

Pogba heads into Euro 2016 having enjoyed an excellent season with Juventus, in which he scored eight goals and registered 12 assists in Serie A.

He also starred in the Champions League, creating more scoring chances (15) than any teammate.

Los Blancos president Florentino Perez has previously spoken of the club’s interest in the Juve midfielder, suggesting this week that Madrid “may” make a move for their reported target.

Although Zidane is a fan of the French midfielder, he recognises they might not be able to lure him to Madrid.

He said, as reported by Goal: “He is a great player, every team would want to have him, but he is a Juventus player and we have to respect that.”

Still only 23, Pogba has established himself as one of the most exciting and dynamic midfielders in the world, mixing skilful dribbling ability with an eye for a pass and a powerful shot.

With a skill-set like that it is easy to see why a club of Madrid’s stature, who have just won the Champions League, would be keen to take him on board.

Meanwhile, Zidane also confirmed that nothing has been decided regarding Alvaro Morata’s future.

Madrid sold the Spanish striker to Juventus in 2014, but have a buy-back clause in his contract and after a positive season in Turin they could make a move, according to widespread reports.

“He has grown a lot in Italy. I don’t know what will happen, but he did very well at Juventus,” the coach said.

“It is normal that they still want to keep him for another year, so we will see what happens. It’s not the time to talk about it yet.”
