Zidane speaks out after James reportedly agrees Man United transfer

Zinedine Zidane has spoken out amid speculation Real Madrid’s James Rodriguez is on the verge of signing for Manchester United.

Rodriguez has failed to secure a regular role under Zidane at the Bernabeu, only starting 13 La Liga games this season.

The Colombian star is being strongly linked with a summer move and RCN Radio say Man United have an agreement in place to sign Rodriguez when the window opens.

It is claimed Rodriguez told Real president Florentino Perez last week that there was substantial interest from the Red Devils.

Speculation over the 25-year-old’s future intensified after his substitution during Real’s emphatic win over Sevilla.

Rodriguez applauded the fans as he walked off and appeared emotional, leading some to speculate whether he was bidding farewell to the supporters.

But Zidane refused to shed much light into the situation, insisting his focus is primarily on the rest of the season with an impressive Double still on the cards for Madrid.

‘James is here [now] and we have a long way to go yet,’ the French legend said.

‘We are thinking about the end of the season, with three game in La Liga and the Champions League.

‘I do not want to talk about anything else.’
