Zinedine Zidane Reacts To Possible Move To Man United

Zinedine Zidane has been unemployed since 2021. Despite this, he is still connected to the top position at Old Trafford because he is a seasoned manager who is free to work without having to pay a salary.

Even with all of the quality and financial resources that United would provide for Zidane, would the Frenchman really want to work there and replace Ten Hag?

Regarding Zidane’s thoughts on going back to coaching and specifically if moving to United is something he would be interested in doing, Express Sport has the inside word on all that is currently known.

Rumors that Zidane is keen to return to management gained momentum after he was seen watching a Real Betis coaching session, during which his son Elyaz participated in his first-ever senior squad training.

The 52-year-old typically keeps a quiet profile but there were rumors that he was willing to be seen in a coaching context because of his public attendance at the Ciudad Deportiva Luis del Sol.

Zidane gave an explanation for his decision to decline the United job offer when it became available in 2021 after Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s firing.

Though he had only been unemployed for a few months at the time of Solskjaer’s departure, the former Real Madrid and Juventus player said that his limited command of English was a significant enough barrier to rule out any interest in taking over from the Norwegian.

In the interview, he said, “I understand English, but I don’t fully master it,” to L’Equipe.

Although Zidane has had three years to study and gain proficiency in the language, there has been no sign that he has done so.
