Bakayoko welcomes Morata to Chelsea

Tiemoue Bakayoko has welcomed fellow Chelsea new-boy Alvaro Morata to the club on an Instagram Story post, despite the transfer not yet being officially completed.

The Spain international is on his way to Stamford Bridge to finalise personal terms and undergo a medical with the club, with Chelsea and Real Madrid agreeing on a fee yesterday.

Morata failed to establish himself as a regular at the Bernabeu last season, but has attracted plenty of interest from the Premier League this summer.

Manchester United looked to be leading the chase for the 24-year-old for much of the transfer window, until opting instead to sign Romelu Lukaku – who had in turn looked set for Chelsea.

Bakayoko joined Chelsea from Monaco last week and is already proving popular with his bubbly social media persona, and he’s already taken it upon himself to greet Morata upon his arrival in London.

The pair are also joined by Antonio Rudiger and Willy Caballero in joining Chelsea this summer, as the club looks to strengthen a squad that rather strolled to the title last season.

Chelsea will now also have Champions League football to contend with in 2017/18 and Antonio Conte has stressed the need for a number of big-name signings.

It remains to be seen if the Blues will end their summer business there, with Conte also thought to be keen on landing new defenders amid links with the likes of Virgil van Dijk and Alex Sandro.
